Updates on Duke

Here's some updates on Duke.  Duke was brought to our panel vet to treat for dog bite wounds.  Two surgeries were carried out and Duke is recuperating at home now.

Duke's feeder writes:

I had to put the collar on all the time because the minute I take it off, he tries to bite off the sutures. Does not want to eat on his own, but asks to be cuddled, rubbing his head and body against my legs, smearing all the iodine applied on his wounds onto me ... I walk around with yellow legs and pants.

Look at the multiple wounds.

Pretty nasty, yah?

Battle-scarred, but still going strong!

Get well soon, Duke!

Looks like a warrior to me. A tough one.

He is a gentle giant, Yen, his late rescuer-Mama told me that he used to let a pregnant stray female eat his food. Being bigger in size, his late Mama always gave him a bigger bowl of kibbles, but a smaller portion for small-sized but pregnant Isabella.

However, this gallant gentleman always moved over to Isabella's bowl and ate her smaller portion. And he always left his bigger portion to his pregnant lady friend who was carrying some one else's babies :-).

The same thing happened no matter how his late Mama moved/turned the food/bowls around to give Duke his bigger portion. Duke always chose the smaller portion and sat looking at Isabella when he had finished.

Talk about generosity and kindness of the heart ...
